Samsung C&T proposed Wednesday a construction plan in which all its affiliates participate to create a “landmark” apartment complex in Banpo, Seoul, as part of an all-out effort as it seeks to win the contract in the area designated for redevelopment.

Reconstruction bids are currently being accepted for the new Banpo 15-apartment unit in Gangnam, and Samsung C&T, Daelim Industrial and Hoban Construction are competing. The result is due to be announced Thursday.

Sansumg C&T said it will gather the efforts of its affiliates, Samsung Electronics, Samsung SDS, S-1 Corporation, Samsung Wellstory and its resort unit, to introduce the “best technologies,” such as artificial intelligence, for the construction project in Banpo.

The company said it will facilitate a ”SmartThings” platform developed by Samsung Electronics to enable management of smart home appliances, energy usage and air quality using a mobile app. S-1 Corporation will be in charge of security, such as by installing high-resolution surveillance cameras and an automatic detection system that follows movements to identify emergency situations, the company said.
