오디션 프로그램 ‘K팝스타’로 얼굴을 알린 이하이가 첫 단독 콘서트를 열었다. 16살 소녀가 매력적인 저음의 목소리로 오디션 프로그램 준우승을 거머쥔지 1년도 채 되지 않은 때 그녀의 이름을 건 콘서트를 연 것이다. 

올해 초, 첫 정규 앨범 “First Love”를 공개한 그녀는 첫 단독 콘서트를 여는 것이 그녀에게 남겨진 마지막 도전이었다. 하지만 이젠 그 마저도 달성한 셈이다.

“Re-Hi”라는 이름으로 팬들을 찾아간 이하이의 첫 콘서트는 12일 오후 5시 마포구에 위치한 서강대 메리홀 대극장에서 열렸으며 500명의 팬들을 불러모았다.

첫 콘서트라 다소 긴장한 모습이 보였으나 “짝사랑”노래가 흘러나오자 오디션 프로그램 당시의 자신감 넘치는 그녀만의 매력적인 모습을 되찾았다.

“마치 꿈 같아요.” 첫 무대를 마친 후 그녀가 처음 내던진 말이었다. “제가 지금 굉장히 긴장했지만 응원에 힘입어 좋은 무대 보여드리겠습니다” 라며 심정을 털어놓았다.

오디션 프로그램 출연 시절부터 많은 팬층을 확보한 16살 소녀는 관객을 그때로 데려가기라도 하듯이 당시 화제가 됐던 노래들을 선보였다. 임재범의 “너를 위해,” 로버타 플랙의 “Killing me softly with his song,” 거미의 “어른 아이,” 그리고 더피의 “Mercy”등으로 특별한 무대를 꾸몄다.

아무리 “괴물 신인” 이하이라 하여도 첫 단독 콘서트에서 보인 긴장감은 그녀의 목소리에서 드러났지만, 그럼에도 불구하고 이하이는 팬들과 소속사 사장인 양현석 앞에서 만족스러운 무대를 펼쳤다.

“처음으로 가져보는 단독 콘서트라 실수가 많을 테지만 양해 부탁 드립니다,”라는 말에 팬들은 아낌 없는 성원을 보냈다.

오디션 프로그램 당시 불렀던 노래 외에도 이하이는 1집 타이틀 곡 “It’s Over”과 “Rose”그리고 데뷔 싱글 “1,2,3,4”를 열창하며 팬들과 하나 되는 모습을 보였다. (코리아헤럴드)

Lee Hi tackles first solo concert in stride

It has been less than a year since the young 16-year-old K-pop starlet Lee Hi made her official debut as a solo singer under YG Entertainment’s wings, after stepping into the spotlight as the runner-up of the survival audition TV program “K-pop Star” season one. 

With the young star having released her first full studio album “First Love” earlier in the year, the only remaining feat for Lee to tackle was putting on her first solo concert performance; she can now scratch that off the list. 

Lee’s first solo concert titled “Re-Hi” was held in the Mary Hall at Sogang University in Seoul on Sunday night, bringing together 500 fans to cheer on the young singer as she tried to calm her nerves and left her heart and soul on the stage. 

“This is like a dream,” the singer shared with the audience after her first set. “I am very nervous right now, but if you continue to cheer me on I hope to calm some of my nerves.” 

Lee, who amassed a large fan base while appearing on the reality singing program, took the audience members back to her “K-pop Star” days by performing some of her fan favorites and popular renditions of Im Jae-bum’s “For You,” Roberta Flack’s “Killing Me Softly with His Song,” Gummy’s “Childish Adult” and Duffy’s “Mercy.” 

Although Lee’s nerves during the concert were apparent, with her voice faltering at times, the starlet nevertheless gave a well-afforded performance in front of hundreds of dedicated fans as well as Yang Hyun-suk, president and founder of YG Entertainment, who was also present at the show to show his support. 

“This is my first concert so there will be little mistakes, please understand,” she said as the audience continued to roar in cheers.

Aside from her “K-pop Star” favorites, Lee also had her fans shouting and singing along with the lead tracks from her debut album “It’s Over” and “Rose.” She ended the night with her smash-hit debut single “1,2,3,4” leaving the audience on its feet.
