Hyundai E&C tops global sustainabilty index for 3 consecutive years

Hyundai Engineering & Construction, has ranked No. 1 in the construction and engineering industry section of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for three consecutive years, the company announced on Wednesday.
The DJSI, which marks its 16th anniversary this year, is the first global index to track the leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide. It is compiled by S&P Dow Jones Indices, a subsidiary of McGraw-Hill Companies -- the world’s largest, global resource for index-based concepts, data and research – and RobecoSAM -- a specialist in sustainability investing.
The index annually evaluates economic, environmental, and social sustainability of the largest 2,500 global companies by 59 industries and announces the evaluation results.
Only 342 companies are included on the DJSI World List, which is equal to 10 percent of all companies rated.
The recognition marks Hyundai E&C’s sixth consecutive appearance on the DJSI World List.
“Due to the outstanding competitiveness of Hyundai E&C it is highly valued as a global construction company that faithfully fulfills social responsibility for environment, sustainable business,” Hyundai E&C said in a press release.
For three consecutive years, the Korean constructor raked in overseas orders of more than $10 billion, and has executed overseas projects in 58 countries in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, North America and the Commonwealth of Independent States regions.
