[KH Explains] Lotte goes all-out to secure cash amid lackluster earnings
One of Korea’s best-known monks will hold a special talk and question and answer session with expats on Friday,
Ven. Pomnyun, will hold a special talk in English with members of the foreign community who want to engage with him and each other on the experiences and challenges they face in Korea, including the uncertainty and fear about what’s happening with North Korea.
As part of his activities, Pomnyun is a popular YouTuber and also a best-selling author.
He has also been involved in humanitarian and human rights work in North Korea since the late 1990s.
“Ven. Pomnyun has previously held special talks with North Korean defectors, Southeast Asian laborers, and members of other disenfranchised groups in Korea; however, this is the first time that he is hosting a talk specifically for the English-speaking community in Korea,” the Jungto Society, which organizes his talks, said in a press release. “All questions are welcome. No topic is taboo.”
The talk will take place Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the Korean Buddhist History and Culture Memorial Building in Jogyesa, near Jonggak Station. Admission is free.
