President Yoon Suk Yeol's approval rating rose slightly from a month ago to 35 percent, a survey commissioned by Yonhap News Agency and Yonhap News TV showed Wednesday.

The rating rose 2 percentage points from last month, while the negative assessment dipped 1 percentage point to 59 percent, according to the survey conducted by Metrix on 1,000 people aged 18 and older Saturday and Sunday.

The survey also showed that 35 percent of the respondents said they would vote for the ruling People Power Party and 36 percent for the main opposition Democratic Party if the general elections were to take place tomorrow.

In terms of the approval ratings, the People Power Party was ahead with 36 percent against the Democratic Party's 33 percent.

Support for the ruling party rose 2 percentage points from the previous survey, while that of the Democratic Party fell 2 percentage points.

Twenty percent of respondents said they do not support any political party.

The survey also showed that People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon and Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung were tied at 36 percent of support in a hypothetical two-way presidential race.

The survey has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points with a 95 percent credibility rate. (Yonhap)
