P1Harmony returned to the K-pop scene Monday with its first studio album, “Killin’ It,” exuding confidence following the group's successful world tour and performance at the Jingle Ball concert in the US.

“Three years after our debut, we are finally introducing our studio album. We are happy but nervous at the same time. We tried to put a lot of our group’s strengths into this album," said Keeho of P1Harmony during a press conference in Seoul on Monday. All members of the band took part in writing the lyrics for the album, he added.

The 10-track “Killin’ It” is led by the titular track “Killin’ It.”

“The lead track is composed of catchy synth sounds, 808 base and rap flow which gives the song a '90s hip-hop vibe," said said Jiung of P1Harmony.

“For all the tracks in this album, we tried to use words that linger on people’s minds once they've heard it. The lyrics had to be expressive and, at the same time, had to be capable of showing how much we have grown as musicians,” said Intak of P1Harmony.

P1Harmony was inspired by the film “Suicide Squad” to portray themselves as heroes on stage.

“We thought edgy, grungy and dark heroes, rather than superheroes such as Superman, fit us better. We tried to become mischievous heroes that, on stage, create harmony as a team,” said Keeho.

“As heroes on stage, we want to show the world that we have no musical limits and that we can only go forward,” said Jongseob of P1Harmony.

Last year, P1Harmony rose to stardom in the US with its sixth EP, “Harmony: All In,” landing at No. 51 on the Billboard 200 which charts the most popular albums in the US.

“We couldn’t believe it because it was our dream come true. It boosted our confidence that as a group we can achieve anything,” said Intak.

The sextet further expanded its presence overseas by going on a world tour last year, performing in 39 cities around the world, and also taking part in the annual iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour.

The iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour is an American holiday concert featuring the year’s top artists performing their No. 1 hits.

“It was an honor to take the same stage with renowned global artists at the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour. This opportunity showed us that hard work and dedication pay off. We hope to hold another world tour soon to meet as many fans as possible,” said Taeho of P1Harmony.

P1Harmony is set to perform at the 2024 Governor’s Ball Music Festival in New York in June, the only K-pop act to do so this year.
